Advent

Well, our Ecclesiastes series is over... for now. We may continue on in Ecclesiastes sometime in the new year... who knows? But for now we will pause to spend the next several weeks focussing on Advent. Ecclesiastes was a thought-provoking series which created some good conversation about some deep issues as relevant to our culture today as to Solomon's culture when he wrote the book roughly 2900 years ago.

Advent is a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the birth of Christ. Next Sunday, the first week of Advent, Norm Wiseman will lead us in some discussion about the idea of “Hope”. Is hope just another strategy for getting through difficult days? What is it that you are hoping for these days? How would life be different if we truly placed our hope in the One we celebrate at Christmas?
